![]() ![]() Much like Brady bouncing back from a loss in a Super Bowl and then winning the very next year, Chopra saw McGregor begin his climb back from defeat with that same kind of ferocity. ![]() It gives you more storytelling opportunities than just another victory. I have to say for the filmmaking, for the storytelling, losing - I don’t want to say it’s better but it’s more interesting. “I was at both of the Poirier fights, and we had a vision, and I’ve been through this before with Tom Brady where you think he’s going to win the Super Bowl and he doesn’t. You go into the fights thinking of course he’s going to win these fights. You get on the ride and it’s like ‘he’s training really hard, he’s looking really good’ and you’re listening to all the trainers telling you ‘he’s never been in better shape in his life, his mind is so right’ and all this stuff. What actually happened was McGregor falling to Poirier in back-to-back fights with the last bout ending with that devastating injury. Like all athletes competing in professional sports, McGregor faces the same possible outcomes with success or failure but Chopra admits he got drawn into the idea that he was about to witness the Irish superstar make an ascension back to greatness. “You figure stuff out in the edit room but that was just one of several dramatic things that happened. That hospital scene, which happens really at the end is so powerful and so intimate and so interesting but it’s like how did we get here? “There’s a plan, there’s an outline or a vision, and then there’s what you capture, what actually happens, what’s in the can, the stuff that’s strongest. ![]() “It’s documentary filmmaking 101,” Chopra explained. Chopra admits he never could have predicted how things would play out when he first started following McGregor after his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather and his subsequent return to the UFC in his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. He admits that he wasn’t necessarily the biggest fight fan but there was something utterly fascinating about McGregor that got him interested in the project. You’re like wow, this is a unique guy.”Ĭhopra, who is the co-founder of Religion of Sports and has done past documentaries such as Man in the Arena: Tom Brady and Shut Up and Dribble, which focused on LeBron James, spent the better part of the past three years developing this new documentary on McGregor. We’ve all seen his ankle snap and there’s another scene where he’s trying to convince the doctor ‘no, I’ll be fine, give me a couple of months.’ He’s already planning his comeback, his next fight. “You see that in that crazy hospital scene. He’s instantly analyzing and ready for the next fight. Losing is definitely part of the journey. ![]() “He’s like you don’t fight this much and not lose. “One of the things that’s interesting about Conor, when he loses and he’s lost a couple of fights in the past few years, everyone else freaks out - he very much doesn’t,” Gotham Chopra, director behind the new Netflix documentary McGregor Forever told MMA Fighting. Instead, he was telling his physicians about his eventual return to fighting. Conor McGregor was speaking to his doctors just hours removed from surgery after suffering a gruesome injury when his leg snapped at the end of the first round in his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.Īs recovery and rehabilitation plans were being discussed, the former two-division UFC champion wasn’t necessarily thinking about how long it would take him to stand on two legs again and he wasn’t mired in defeat after a second straight loss to Poirier. ![]()

![]() ![]() Historically, there have been two ways to access the operating system a Graphical User Interface (GUI) shell, or a command-line shell. The Terminal is an application from Apple used to gain access to the power that is “under the hood” of the operating system. Introduction to the OS X Terminal Application Why do we use iDVD instead of iPhoto to do this? We tried creating slideshows using iPhoto with our 800MHz G4 iBook (1 GB of RAM and a SuperDrive), and with a 1.5 GHz G4 desktop. We used iPhoto ‘06 on Mac OS 10.4, with a Hewlett-Packard 7960 Photosmart printer. (Who doesn’t?) For this tutorial, we wanted to perform two iPhoto tasks: print 8.5x11 photos, and crop a portrait photo from a landscape original. How to Print Borderless Photos with iPhoto We are talking, of course, about the Terminal, that magnificent gateway to the hidden underpinnings of the Mac OS. It also possesses the fearsome ability to wreak unimaginable havoc on your system. It is simple and elegant, yet can be intimidating (if not terrifying) and has the power to cure some of your computer’s most puzzling ills. Sitting discreetly in Utilities folder (nestled nearly unnoticed amid your applications) is one of the most powerful tools ever created for the Mac. An Absolute Beginner's Guide to the Terminal Sure, Mac users often take this software for granted, but if you really use PCs - and I mean really use them, not just play around with them at BestBuy - you’ll quickly find yourself missing the third-party Mac applications. The best thing about Macs is all of the quality freeware and shareware software. I don’t care what Justin Long and John Hodgman say in the Get a Mac commercials. Comics have some great uses in the classroom and in a variety of curricula. While there’s still resistance to this medium being used in education - whether by staff or students - there is also a growing movement to use every valuable tool available. There’s a long history of comics in the classroom, and the list of references at the end of this article is a great starting point for learning about this concept. Look for it in your Mac’s Applications folder. Sure, you can search your Mac with Spotlight and get Internet information with Dashboard Widgets, but Sherlock can still come in handy. Don't Look Up is very entertaining my only criticism is its length of over 2hours 30 minutes some smart editing could have cut half an hour off for me and made great some great deleted scenes on the DVD. The other stand out role is Mark Rylance as Peter Isherwell a soft spoken cold unemotional Cyber Baron who can predict anyone's life experiences including future health and life and death expectancy by the algorithms that are collected by his new phone data systems. Jennifer Lawrence is wonderful as the feisty highly strung student who is ridiculed and told she needs media training when she really is the only one with any credibility or principles at all. Brie just wants Light and bright panel guests not these gloom and doom soothsayers to keep her entertainment ratings sky high. The cast includes five Oscar winners (Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, and Mark Rylance) and two Oscar nominees (Timothée Chalamet and Jonah Hill). Although graphics fetishists might not be too impressed ( "Metro 2033" had been almost as visually stunning as "Last Light"), we are. How exactly does 4A Games manage to create such a consistent, credible game world where many other studios have failed? On one hand, it's all about excellent technology. Some players may feel reminded of the visual aesthetics of the "Stalker" series - this is no coincidence, since many developers of "Metro 2033" and "Last Light" had been involved with "Stalker" in the past. Only few first-person shooters manage to create a more immersive experience. As in the first part, we slip into the role of the nearly 20-year old Artyom who has to survive in this harsh and hostile environment.Īs expected, "Last Light" inherits one of the strengths of its predecessor: The extremely intense atmosphere. Among others, there are fascists ("Reich") and communists ("Reds"), but the subway tunnels are also populated by numerous horribly mutated creatures which are hostile towards the protagonist as well. This harsh existence without daylight or enough food is made even worse by a number of rivaling factions. After a nuclear war that has laid waste to Russia, the remaining humans try to hide underground. Missile base? "Dark Ones"? Without a fast-paced introductory video describing the preceding events, those who didn't play the first part would not be able to follow the plot.Īs the title implies, "Metro" takes place in the tunnels of Moscow's subway system. After the conquest of the missile base D6 and the subsequent proceedings, we are supposed to locate the (allegedly) last survivor of the ominous "Dark Ones". Last Light continues the storyline told in its predecessor seamlessly. I also tried deleting the user.cfg multiple times. For the original German review, see here. I not had any trouble on any other game regarding this. Windowed mode I don't really enjoy using for games like this. It looks like this is also happening with Last Light.ĭoes anyone know any solutions to this besides attempting what I already tried with the user.cfg and read only? That seems to be the only thing I could find online. I made sure I only had one version installed so it wouldnt get confused there. I also like to add I tried using both the GOG and Steam versions of this, I don't remember having this problem in the past and certainly didn't on the original Metro 2033. With read only on it doesnt change what the file says but it ignores what the resolution is set to. Without read-only the one in C:\Users\-username-\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033 gets changed by the game to what the game's resolution is at. Tried with every single user.cfg (they all now say the same thing). So basically, I can't change the game resolution to 1920 x 1080 on fullscreen. Something to note, the ingame settings still show 1680 x 1050 despite the windowed one being in 1920 x 1080. Doesn't look like theres a borderless option. However that means I get the taskbar appearing at the bottom along with the desktop if I change the resolution. I have found one fix for this so far, if I change fullscreen to off in user.cfg so its windowed, this works. I made sure to double check that the user.cfg files were read-only. However whenever I launch the game it still doesnt go to this resolution (I have confirmed using some recording software). I have gone in the user and changed the resolution so it looks like the below. I tried googling around and found some things to try such as editing the user.cfg, I understand there are multiple ones. Ingame the max the resolution will go to is 1680 x 1050. However I've started having an issue with the resolution not going to my native resolution of 1920 x 1080. I recently wanted to go back to Metro as I love this series nearly as much as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ![]() ![]() ![]() HOW TO MAKE A MAP WITHOUT CRYING – Go to Yard Sale Treasure Map. ![]() The beauty of the garage sale’s Facebook page was that because so many neighbors shared the map, over 2600 people saw it in their feeds and heard about the garage sale!
